Hillcrest Vision Statement
Hillcrest Elementary is a school that recognizes the importance of a cooperative effort between school, home, and community. Together we will provide a positive, safe, caring environment that allows students to achieve their maximum potential. We value the individual and will engage each student in becoming a responsible, self-directed, lifelong learner.
2008 Proposed Mill Levy Override and Bond Overview
At its Aug. 20 meeting, the Adams 12 Five Star Schools Board of Education voted to place a $9.9 million mill levy override and an $80 million bond on the Nov. 4 ballot. Nearly 400 people attended the meeting.
The $9.9 million mill levy override addresses operations and is 3A on the ballot. The $80 million bond is for buildings and appears as 3B on the ballot.

- Limit class size increases
- Retain high quality teachers
- Provide students with up-to-date textbooks and educational technology
- Sustain current bus services
- Keep individualized teacher support for struggling students
- Preserve the district's rigorous graduation requirements
- Meet the needs of second language learners
- Offset the increased cost of utilities, fuel and healthcare
$80 Million Bond - 47 existing schools, two new schools
- Build two new elementary schools
- Upgrade security systems at existing schools
- Replace obsolete computers and upgrade technology networks at existing schools
- Repair and renovate existing schools
Improve classrooms and interior space
Improve safety of playgrounds
